Maria Brannelly
Founder and Music Director
Maria is an experienced and qualified musician and educator. She began her music career as lead violinist for 2nd violins in Midland Youth Orchestra (now Birmingham Conservatoire Youth Orchestra). She studied under Paul Robertson of Medici String Quartet and sang with the prestigious Kingston Upon Thames Polytechnic Chamber Choir in some of England's greatest venues including Westminster Abbey, Canterbury Cathedral, Royal Festival Hall and St John Smiths Square.
Maria ran her own award winning keyboard studio, teaching in local schools. She also taught violin, and conducted Open Strings Orchestra for Worcestershire Youth Music. Maria has run an outstanding music department which led to her promotion to Senior School Leadership for eight years. In 2016 she returned to her first love - practical music teaching - and Choirs Connected was born!
An accomplished arranger with an infectious love of singable melodies and rich harmonies, Maria promotes fun and high quality music making in one package!
